Le Moniteur des ventes is one of the oldest auction newspapers in France. Founded in 1831 under the title Le Gratis by Pierre Auguste Ferdinand Fau, it very quickly specialised in announcing judicial sales.
It became a weekly in 2001, and in colour, and continues to be the only newsstand medium in its niche.
